These are both human portraits, one acrylic the other oil. I purposefully left the background of each portrait nondescript, showing no extraneous details which might distract from the figures themselves. Ideally, I would like the viewers of these two pieces to focus on the figures and see the character and moods of each figure, one a young girl, the other, an old man. One, whose whole life is in front of them, the other, who has seen much and learned much in their life’s journey.
