The Hands Also Speak

In many shots of the films of the 1920s, the jewels steal the limelight from the costumes and even the actors. The first thing we see of “Geat Gatsby” is her ring, a ring that she plays with throughout the footage and that doesn’t go unnoticed by anyone. And the same happens with Daisy, since before seeing her face she shows the huge diamond that decorates her finger.

Movie Star

My first exhibition was in Madrid, Spain and it was about the covers of Spanish magazines from the beginning of the 20th century. The 1920s in Hollywood was called “The Golden Age” because of the enormous amount of money that movies produced and the images of the bright and glamorous movie stars that filled the cinema screens with electric Art Deco extravagances.
