Resilience

Linda Morris

Signs of Spring

“This painting was inspired by the inquisitive chickadees I find around my yard all year long.  Since I have 2 apple trees, they love to flit from branch to branch, but this one day they sat long enough for me to actually take a good photo of them.  The resilience of these birds is astonishing, as there are several domestic cats in the area, and they thrive and survive amid all the dangers around them.”

Silent Roar

This painting suggests the power and majesty of these majestic animals.  Whether sitting or hunting they inspire great awe and wonder, and we were lucky enough to see several of these creatures on a S. Africa trip we took several years ago. Trophy hunting is still allowed in some parts of Africa, which should be banned, so we must admire the resilience of these powerful animals to be able to stay alive, find mates and raise a family, all the while being fiercely protective of their young.
