You are invited to join our monthly event "First Saturday", a networking and guest speaker event.

On the First Saturday evening of the month, May 4 from 6PM to 8PM in The Turnbull Gallery, First Saturday will be hosting: "Comics, Cartoons, & Illustrations: How to Get Started".

Our guest speakers are Pat Petrala, Derek Armstrong, Nicci Battilana, and Kelly Ulrich.

Learn the tips and tricks to draw your own cartoon, comic, or illustrative art from Webcomic and Illustration artist Kelly Ulrich. Explore line, value, shape and colour as you learn how to tell a story through images. Paper, pencils and some pens and pencil crayons are availible for use but you are invited to brign your own supplies to learn and practice with.

Suggested supplies include: Sketchbook, black pens (ink, gel, or rollerball; small, medium and thick), markers, pencil crayons, pencil (HB) and eraser.

Register to drop into this class on Saturdays at 3PM-6PM from Apr 20 - Jun 22, by choosing which project you want to learn. Suitable for new and experienced potters.

Clay is included (M340S) or you are welcome to bring your own SAS purchased clay to create with.

Participation in a Drop-in includes access to a free Glazing Workshop as you will not be able to glaze your work the same day. These glazing Workshops are by invitation only, if you have previously made items from a class to glaze.

Create beautiful textured art! Local artist Seemu Sukheja will lead you through the tecniques. On the first day, build up your background and explore with texture. Semiahmoo Arts Society welcomes everyone to come create at our Visual Art Studio's Open Studio!

Every Monday (except holidays) from 9AM to 12PM our spacious Visual Arts Studio at The South Surrey Recreation Centre (14601-20Ave, Surrey BC) is available to you to work on your own artistic pursuits and meet other artists. These drop-ins are non-instructional but a Studio Supervisor will be present if you have any questions about the studio space.

The O'Carolan Celtic Ensemble are classically trained musicians, together since 2017. They play a four part harmony and their music includes the traditional styles of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
